In our reality, patterns exist everywhere and we humans are quite adept at recognizing them. Since ancient times, spiritual texts have contained references to special patterns, geometric shapes, and proportions. It is these series of geometric shapes that are collectively known as sacred geometry or symbols. Some of the well-known types of sacred symbols are mandalas, the flower of life, the Metatron Cube, Shri Yantra, etc.

In spirituality, a great deal of importance is ascribed to sacred symbols. This is because they have a deep metaphysical meaning. They are thought to encode the secret of life and form the basis of higher dimensions. Mystics, gurus, and sages have always believed that they form the foundation of reality itself.

Our DNA, a flower petal, seashells, snowflakes, galaxies, and basically all physical objects are created using these geometric codes. As such, you can only imagine the kind of power that sacred symbols hold. It’s no wonder that they have been used and mentioned throughout history in countless texts.

History of Sacred Symbols

Different types of shapes and patterns in sacred geometry have been talked since ancient times. They have been referenced in religious as well as spiritual texts throughout the world.

Why Are Sacred Symbols Important?

Sacred geometry contains powerful energies and can help you connect with your higher self and higher energies. They can reveal to you the true nature of reality and open up your perception so that you can experience the metaphysical side of our reality. Throughout the ages, mystics have used them as a conduit to connect to higher consciousness.

It’s important to understand that our physical reality is just a tiny percentage of the larger reality. And since sacred symbols can help you witness this larger reality, they are considered extremely important. Many spiritual gurus have stated that the purpose of human life is to be able to interface and become one with the higher consciousness that has been called by many names throughout history.

People have called it god, the universe, energy, and many other things. But there is a general understanding that there is a higher power that is much more than our physical reality. Sacred geometry forms the basis of this higher power and can also serve as your portal to access it. There are a number of ways you can use sacred geometry for healing purposes and to connect with higher energies.

Using Sacred Symbols To Connect To Higher Energies

The first way that most people use these symbols is by simply placing their pictures around them. Just having them around can have a positive result on you as well as your surrounding space.

Another effective way is meditation which is known by most. During a meditation session, you can place a sacred symbol in front of you. Then you can start by directing your focus to the center of the symbol. Slowly, you can widen your gaze and take in more of the symbol. Continue like this until you are looking at the symbol as a whole. In Hinduism, people practice this with the Shri Yantra.

A more advanced form on this meditation could be to build a crystal grid in a sacred geometric structure. Then you would need to sit at the center of this structure and meditate for as long as you are comfortable. For instance, you could create a circle of red stones or a square of hematite stones. This would help you feel the healing benefits of sacred geometry.

Yet another way involves a Metatron cube. This symbol is named after the Archangel Metatron in Egyptian history and is said to contain every shape that exists in the universe. It is responsible for protecting and balancing the flow of energy through all things. You can place this symbol in those places that you think might need protection. Then you can sit down in a meditative pose and visualize Archangel Metatron creating a protective shield around those spaces.

The Takeaways

If you understand the importance of sacred geometry and the ways to use it, you can gain a lot of wisdom about our reality. You would be more open to life and look at creation as one single happening. It can also definitely help you in your physical, emotional, and spiritual healing.

In today’s world, it is important to learn how to achieve a sense of harmony with yourself. Using sacred symbols could be your first and most effective step towards doing so. When you are able to connect to higher consciousness, you live a much more fulfilled life with your higher self guiding you in your journey of spiritual development.
